MP RE-VISTS AND OFFICIALLY OPENS NEW LEARNING DISABILITY CENTRE

Today Ian Pearson, MP officially opened the Ridge Hill Centre, Ridge Hill, Stourbridge which, from Monday 23rd October, clinics will be run from the centre and provide state-of-the-art modern facilities for people with learning disabilities in the borough. 

The new £5.5 million centre will house a specialist unit for people who live in the community but need intensive support for short periods of time.  A purpose-designed Therapy and Enabling Centre to support and develop skills of people with learning disabilities and to help people with physical therapy services such as Hydrotherapy.

This new centre forms a key part of the Government's strategy to enable people with learning disabilities to live in local communities and not in traditional hospital settings, such as the one currently located on Ridge Hill in Stourbridge.

Ian Pearson, MP said "having visited the Ridge Hill Centre in March whilst being constructed, I am delighted to have been invited back to officially open the Ridge Hill Centre.  This Centre will give learning disabilities people who live in Dudley first class health facilities right on their doorstep"
